The 2012 Great Taste Awards are now open for entry with a number of changes designed to benefit producers, retailers and consumers.

A two-tier entry fee system has been introduced to keep the costs down for small producers.
Entry fees have been frozen at last year’s prices for those that enter before February 24.
All entrants will automatically be entered into a directory, to be compiled by the Guild of Fine Food, for retailers to use as a sourcing tool.

Meanwhile the number of categories has been reduced, with more consumer-friendly category descriptions, to make it easier for shoppers to search the list of winners online.
