New investment programme to help you grow your business


A brand new European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) financial subsidy is available to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the North East, through a new programme delivered by the Business & Enterprise Group.

Investment for Growth is available to eligible companies planning to improve their business through investing in projects which will result in creating or safeguarding jobs.
The types of projects that we can offer a subsidy for include*:
• Product & market diversification
• Business change management
• Business expansion
• Succession planning
• Development of quality management systems
• Process & systems improvement
• Supply chain improvement
• Product development
• Improved ergonomics & layout
• Marketing planning (may include some web development)
• Brand / re-brand design
• Development of environmental/efficiency programmes
• Exhibition attendance

Please note, ERDF eligibility criteria applies, Investment for Growth is available to SMEs with less than 250 employees who are trading within the North East of England. Unfortunately, the fund cannot support business in retail or personal services.
