Taste North East member The Proof of the Pudding is the best, says national newspaper

Susan Green’s The Proof of the Pudding Alnwick Rum creation was ranked top in The Independent’s annual Christmas pudding taste test.

Testers placed Susan’s pudding above some of the country’s most prestigious brands including Fortnum & Mason and Harrods.

Made in the kitchen of the Green family’s farmhouse home at Heckley High House near Alnwick in Northumberland, testers awarded the pudding a maximum 20 points along with the following accolade:

“Made to a family recipe on a Northumberland farm by Susan Green who refuses to swerve beef suet, this lighter style pud had the tasters in ecstacies. A most attractive pudding.”
